Not the easiest meal to eat if you only have one usable arm but that wasn't an issue for Jimi. The tomato sauce is too tomato-y for Jimi's liking but that's a Jimi problem. Anyone who trusts his food or movie opinions is an idiot. I mean we're talking about the guy who somehow confused the movies Pretty Woman and Erin Brakovich. Neither movie had he seen but Jimi digresses. 5 stars
Dinner with family! My sister saw a show on Netflix that said this was the #1 pizza place in the country, therefore we had to try it out. It is located in a strip mall area so plenty of parking and since there is a wait, it's a good way to kill some time shopping. Took us about 45 min of waiting but they will text your phone when your table is ready. When I got the text, our whole party arrived together as requested by the hostess, but instead on immediately seating us, we waited a few minutes as she continued to take reservations for other people. We got seated and I gave to say I really enjoyed the ambiance. We were seated inside where they gave dim lighting and real candles lit and we were under a chandelier surrounded by paintings. We figured out quickly what pizzas we wanted which happened to be the Rosa (our favorite with pistachios on top) and the Margherita pizza. My sister was telling me that Chef Chris Bianco spices all the ingredients locally, so pretty much farm to table. I knew it was going to be good based on that. The pizzas are wood fired. The prices are reasonable for the quality of pizza and the pizzas only come in 12 in size with 6 slices each. The waiter came up and just about gave me a heart attack because he was yelling right in my ear. To be fair, it was quite loud in there. We had two young kids with us that didn't care for pizza but they really don't have any other kid friendly options except for spaghetti with either tomato sauce, butter, or I believe it was a white sauce. The kids were mostly interested in butter and pasta. We also ordered two diet sodas. The waiter came back with an appetizer of sliced bread and olive oil. I was surprised no vinegar as well. But still it was delicious with a crunchy outside ave soft inside. We guessed that the chef probably makes his own olive oil too. The waiter also brought out two cups of ice and two cans of soda. I thought this was kind of lame as nothing kills an experience than going to the back to get two cans of soda you bought from a grocery store and handing those same cans to your customer. They should at least pour it into the cup and bring it out. The pizzas finally came out but there was barely any room to put them on the table. The waiter just pushed around plates and cups to squeeze it in and didn't bother removing the extra plates we didn't need anymore. The pizzas themselves were spot on though. Simply delicious and quality. The crust was perfect. Light, crispy outside, chewy inside. The olive oil on the crust. Yummy! So yes, probably my in my top 10 around the USA. Is it the best in the US? I'm gonna say no. I can say that with confidence as I've tried several quality pizzas in the US and several crappy ones. The best is always subjective though. Is it very good? Yes! Do yourself a favor and try it and make your own determination. Overall a good experience. We came in on a Friday night at 6 pm which is probably their peak time, but that's always a good test of the service.
I've heard great things about Pizzeria Bianco so I was so excited to give them a try while in Phoenix! This is not the original location - this location is much bigger and located in a strip mall. I had heard how popular this place is so I was surprised when my group of 10 was able to get seated without a reservation for lunch on a Friday. That being said, I believe reservations are recommended. My partner and I shared the Rosa pizza and the Pappardelle. Both were excellent. The Rosa pizza comes topped with a TON of pistachios which was great. Typically pizza places will top only a few crumbles of pistachios but here they were the star of the show. Loved the pizza crust as well. The pappardelle was very flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Service was awesome! Overall a 10/10 experience. Can't wait to visit again when I'm in the area!
Dropped in around 3pm (made a reservation in advance) it was empty when we got in but started to fill up quickly. This is their second location (first one doesn't allow for reservations- it is walk in only) we were immediately greeted by the people working in the pizza kitchen. We ordered 3 pizzas - margherita , wise guy and rosa. We were hesitant on the Rosa but it turned out to be all of favorite. The crunch of the pistachio with the rosemary flavor worked really well. The wise guys cheese worked really well with the sausage pairing. The marg wasn't remarkable - I think it can be skipped personally. To end off lunch, we ordered the tres leches which was recommended by the waitress and I'm so glad we listened because it was definitely remarkable!
We FINALLY made it to Pizzeria Bianco back in November after a little over two years of living in the Valley. We had family visiting from out of town and their one request was to try Pizzeria Bianco. We were out exploring Phoenix and decided to call the other location and this one to check on the wait time. To our pleasant surprise, this location didn't have a wait! Their lunch rush had just passed. We were seated right away. The ambiance is cozy and laid back. The space is pretty big and offers plenty of seating indoor and out. Since it was a beautiful day, we requested to sit outside on the patio. Hungry, we couldn't wait to place an order. It didn't take us long to decide on the following: Seasonal salad Rosa $23 Wiseguy $26 Biancoverde $24 Margherita $22 Was their pizza the best I've ever had? Probably not, but they were absolutely delicious! The Rosa was my favorite followed by the Margherita, which we ordered to take home. The seasonal salad was also another favorite of mine. Service was fast and friendly. Pizzeria Bianco is definitely worth a try and I would definitely return!
I love pizza from my head tomatoes. ;) An unprecedented approach to ingredients and technique has made Chris Bianco's Phoenix pizzeria the home of what critics deem the best pies in the world. Rosa ($23 - Red onion, parmesan, rosemary, AZ pistachios): Did you not read the description? This pizza is DIVINE! It's my favorite here at Pizzeria Bianco. That parmesan is so salty and granular. I love the crunch the pistachio gives and that rosemary is subtle but fragrant. This isn't your typical pizza and you won't miss the lack of meat. I order this every time. Wiseguy ($26 - Wood-roasted onion, house smoked mozzarella, fennel sausage): The Wiseguy is everything you want in a pie. The house-made mozzarella is delicious and the fennel sausage is a flavor explosion. It's a straight-forward and simplistic pie that'll have you mm-mmming after every bite! Artisan Spaghetti ($18 - Bianco DiNapoli Pomodoro + Basil) + Four Meatballs ($??): I haven't had a chance to try their pasta until this last visit and wow. I've been missing out! If you're a Honey Boo Boo fan, with her "sketti" and a sauce made of equal parts ketchup and butter, this dish is not for you. The Artistan Spaghetti is perfectly al dente, the bright acidic tomatoes, and those tender soft meatballs... Wow! Get some fresh parmesan grated on top and buon appetito! What else can be said? Chris Bianco is brilliant. It's no wonder how he has won a James Beard Foundation Award for best Southwest Chef and no small feat that Pizzeria Bianco is named one of the best pizzerias in the country by Bon Appétit. Pizzeria Bianco was also featured on Netflix's "Chef's Table: Pizza." There's a reason why I always suggest Pizzeria Bianco to anyone visiting this beautiful city of ours.
Came with a group of 4 on a Saturday for a late-ish lunch (12:30pm). Thought we'd have to wait, but were seated inside immediately. Our waiter was very friendly, bringing us waters to start. We started with the handmade mozzarella, which came with sliced cherry tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of olive oil. Very simple but tasty. This was accompanied by complimentary bread, which came in handy to make lil' caprese sandwiches and mop up olive oil. We split the Margherita and Wise Guy, which was a nice balance between a pizza with and without red sauce. Our waiter let us know the latter pizza (Wise Guy) did not have red sauce, which was thoughtful. Wise Guy came with a significantly large burnt boil, but it shattered easily and was quickly discarded. Crust was nice and chewy, and toppings were fresh. Overall, worth a visit. Ended being ~$77 after tip, so split between 4 people it was an extremely reasonable but light lunch. My 2 friends visiting from NYC said it's better than most pizzas they've had in the city (likely factoring in waiting time and price). Bonus if you see their resident orange cat around, usually lounging in the potted plant by the host stand.
We came here after a long day of hiking. food: i got the wiseguy pizza. Fresh dough and ingredients. Really yummy. I also got the seasonal Handmade Mozzarella Salad. Really refreshing even on a winter evening. I ate this all togo. We were a party of 8 and the wait was about 2 hours long. We didn't want to wait, so we ate this all togo near by. I would love to eat hear inside. The inside looked nice inside.
I can understand why people rave about this pizza shop - it's very good! Food: we got the Biancoverde. Margarita, and Rosa! I loved the Biancoverde, it is a white pizza with a lot of flavor! Most people seemed to love the Rosa and that was by far the most unique pizza of the three - it included pistachios! I enjoyed that one a lot. The margarita was very enjoyable! The taste for these were great. We ordered 3 pizzas for 4 people and that was a decent amount Ambience: I really enjoyed the vibes of this place! We ate outdoors which was pleaser Service: good service Price: decent!
